Hello, I'm Karl. Thanks for stopping by to see my portfolio.
I’ve been a graphic designer now since the age of 19, back in the days when it was all copying and pasting images drawn up then laid out for print. Since then I’ve spent the most of my life within the Sign Industry producing artwork in vector format for vinyl cutting and full colour artwork for banners, vehicle wraps and livery, exhibitions, point of sale and well, just about anything else that came along. The role always involved face to face contact with clients understanding their needs and giving them exactly what they needed. A big asset to designing in the sign industry is knowing the trade inside out. From hand cutting perspex, Diabond and wooden lettering, Operating a large array of wide format printers and cutters to fitting vinyl graphics over many years
I like to take the approach that any object or product can look pleasing to the eye, and always research the market these are being marketed in and to which audience.
Advancing my skill set and learning new techniques is always priority for me……things change and advance fast today and so does the human appetite for something exciting.
Collecting logos and images from newspapers and magazines, taking photos of graphic design around me, although some people give me strange looks, is a habit I do everyday to find more inspiration and creativity.
Coming up with a great design that everyone sees and recognises and enjoys is the buzz I love….makes the late nights all worth while.
I’m looking for the right opportunity to express others with ideas and great job satisfaction. It’s not just a job, it’s a way of life…..I love it.
